Pure Pilates what is it?
Pure Pilates is the teaching of cote stability as a way of life not just an exercise class. I practice Pure Pilates because I
practice good posture with core stability, every movement I make. I have three children, I have suffered lower back pain in the past and because I practice pure Pilates everyday I have as fit flat tummy and very little back pain. I recommend you do the same. Have a look at the

Following a leader in a class or from a DVD and doing an assortment of exercises is not Pilates. It is called Pilates because the leader tells you to hold your core tight. Every exercise involves Pilates, or should do.
Pure Pilates so what is it?
Pilates is the name given to the training of the deep abdominal muscle called Transverse Abdominus it is know as the Transverse Abdominal Muscle (TVA). Pilates was the name of the man who discovered the function of this muscle and the importance of this muscle in posture.
The abdominal muscles are mostly trained for aesthetic reasons in that we all want a flat stomach. The TVA muscle has been neglected for many decades by the exercise fraternity because the six pack group was the focus for a strong flat tummy, (Rectus Abdominis). The physiotherapy and medical bio mechanics people have known and trained this muscle for the control of back pain for many years, but only to people with lower back pain. The general exercising public have missed out in the past.
Pilates became popular a number of years ago and was picked up and marketed for the general public mainly for its function to flatten the stomach. As an exercise regime people think if they do Pilates they will have a flat stomach. Well this is correct however Pilates must be practiced properly. Pure Pilates exercises have so many more benefits than just a flat tummy. Unfortunately the mechanics of it is not understood by the exercise trainers and hence it is not taught in the classes. Pilate’s exercises have become a follow the leader exercise class called Pilates.
Pure Pilates involves the learning and understanding of the anatomy, mechanics and use of the muscle. Pure Pilates must be trained by a Physiotherapist or exercise therapist to be taught properly. The function of this muscle in the stabilizing of the lower back is complex. The understanding of this muscle with pain in the body is complex. A physiotherapist treats people with lower back pain and can retrain the function of this muscle to people properly.
Correct Pilates exercises can change your life, if followed as a way of life. Pure Pilates exercises are detailed and focus on the stability of the lower back. If you have not been taught how to hold the TVA as you exercise, as you walk, as you move around, then you are not practicing pure Pilates. Limb strength in all sports will be greater with good core stability. A person will run faster and with more muscle energy efficiency with good core stability. People who play racket sports will have better hand eye coordination with core stability. They will have better ball contact with greater strength and precision. This can all be gained with proper Pilates training.
